11 Jul Truth’s Power
We struggle in life because we don’t know the truth about God. We’ve confused the Living God, Creator of heaven and earth, and our loving Heavenly Father, with images from mythological figures that portray Him as an angry, temperamental old man with a bolt of lightning ready to zing you.
Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
The first key to winning every spiritual battle is to know who God is. The second is to know who you have been made in Christ. Before trying to identify any spiritual force or rebuking any demon, these truths should be in place. Then many cases of ‘spiritual warfare’ are already handled before they even rear their heads!
Do you believe that God is good? Do you believe that Jesus Christ is His Son? Do you believe that Jesus Christ gave His life to save you? Do you believe God loves you?
The biggest spiritual battle is the one between faith and unbelief. The only fight we are called to fight is the fight of faith. We battle to tear down strongholds of wrong thinking in our minds. The aim is to keep on believing the truth about God and His Son Jesus Christ.
God is for you, not against you. He is not only able to do miracles – He is WILLING to do them. He loves you. God is not withholding from you. That is the original temptation that deceived Eve. The enemy still tries to get us to believe that God doesn’t really have good intentions towards us.
Romans 8:31-32 (NIV)
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
If you need proof that God is good, think about what He did for us by sending Jesus. Christ is the ultimate expression of the Father’s love for us.
Let’s pray: Father God, please open my eyes to the truth of Your goodness and love today and every day. I desire to know You for who You really are. Come Holy Spirit and open up the Scriptures to me as I meditate on Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
