Salvation prayer

Do you want to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and enter a living relationship with Him? We encourage you to pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me and dying on the cross to pay the price for my sin. I believe You are the Son of God, my Saviour. I receive the forgiveness Your blood bought for me. Thank you that I don’t have to live my life without You anymore. You live in my heart through the Holy Spirit. Because of Your finished work on the cross I have an abundant and eternal life from today and into heaven. Thank you, Father, that I am now Your beloved child. Amen.

You are now God’s child! Read these Scriptures to be sure that you are saved: John 1:12 – those who believe in Him, are His children, 1 John 5:12-13 – you can know that you have eternal life, John 10:27-28 – no one can snatch you out of His hand.

Love and Miracles

When I read this beautiful testimony from one of my good friends in ministry, Ed Elliot, I was moved so deeply that I just had to share it with you. Knowing that God loves you is incredibly powerful!

This comes from Ed Elliot of Word of Life World Outreach. You can find out more about his ministry at www.edelliot.org.

“A few years ago, an older woman came to me for counselling. She had been diagnosed with cancer and was in a state of fear. Someone who knew me and our ministry suggested she should contact me. They relayed to her that our ministry had seen many healings and miracles take place and that she should come for counsel and prayer.

As I answered the door, there stood a frightened very frail lady. I invited her in; Laurie made her a cup of tea, and we talked. She told me she attended a local church, but they didn’t believe God still heals today. She shared about her life, faith, hopes, and dreams. I sat quietly and listened.

Jesus said out of the abundance of your heart your mouth will speak. So as I took it all in, I knew what the main problem was right away. As she sipped her tea, I leaned forward, looked into her eyes and asked, “Do you believe God loves you just the way you are at this very moment?” Her chin dropped to her chest and she said, “no.”

I wasn’t really surprised by her answer since I sensed it as she talked. She was filled with regret, guilt, and shame and was convinced her failures in life had angered or disappointed God. She believed the cancer that was slowly killing her was possibly His punishment.
She had her Bible, and I asked her to open it. We went through many of the scriptures I have shared in several of these “Spiritual Coffee” emails.

Every Tuesday, she came to my house at 10 a.m. and we talked about God’s love. Six weeks later, she asked when we were going to get into the healing stuff. I smiled and asked her how long the doctor had given her. She looked a little taken back and said the doctor had given her maybe two years. I said, “We have plenty of time then.”

She laughed, and I explained the Bible teaches that faith works by love. I could have easily given her numerous healing scriptures and explained how Jesus, through the cross, has provided healing. However, if she wasn’t convinced that God loved her, then her faith would never have worked anyway. She would not be able to receive and walk in the provision available.

Three weeks later, she came to our regular appointment, and I could see there was a difference about her. She was bubbly and filled with joy; the depression and fear that seemed to have had a grip on her were gone. She was very excited as she shared with me how she was teaching one of her neighbours how much God loved him. She said he was extremely blessed and helped by what she told him. Sharing God’s love with him filled her with such joy. A big grin broke across my face. I began to tear up and said to her, “I think you got it!”

She seemed to jump in her seat when I said that. Then she thought for a moment and said, “Ed, you are right; I’ve got it! I know and I am fully convinced that God does love me. He has always loved me and will never stop loving me, ever!” With that declaration of faith, I told her to open her Bible to 1 Peter 2:24.

Two weeks later, she went back to her doctor, and the cancer was all gone. She has since moved out of state. It has been many years now, and I still talk to her every so often. 17 years later, she is still cancer-free. She is such an amazing witness for Jesus and shares with everyone how amazing God’s love is.

In Hebrews Chapter 6, it talks about the foundation of our faith. One of those foundational beliefs is “the character of God,” or faith toward God. If you don’t understand the nature and the character of God, your foundation will be faulty. The strength of a building comes from the foundation the building was built on. To enjoy the abundant life, Scripture promises your foundation should be built on who Jesus revealed God to be!”

He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.
(John 14:9)
