Salvation prayer

Do you want to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and enter a living relationship with Him? We encourage you to pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me and dying on the cross to pay the price for my sin. I believe You are the Son of God, my Saviour. I receive the forgiveness Your blood bought for me. Thank you that I don’t have to live my life without You anymore. You live in my heart through the Holy Spirit. Because of Your finished work on the cross I have an abundant and eternal life from today and into heaven. Thank you, Father, that I am now Your beloved child. Amen.

You are now God’s child! Read these Scriptures to be sure that you are saved: John 1:12 – those who believe in Him, are His children, 1 John 5:12-13 – you can know that you have eternal life, John 10:27-28 – no one can snatch you out of His hand.

God’s way of correction

I remember an incident when I pastored a church in another city. There was an elderly gentleman who suffered from severe arthritis. One day I offered to pray for him but he said that he believed God placed this sickness on him to teach him a lesson.

So many people still believe that God uses sickness and disease to correct and discipline His children. Ask yourself this question: If you are a parent will you use cruel methods to discipline and correct your child? Of course not! We call that abuse and God is not an abuser.
“Well Pastor Norman, doesn’t the Bible say that God disciplines those He loves?” Yes it does, but the word for discipline used in Hebrews 12:5-11, where this question comes from, is that of ‘child training’. Not of punishment in the sense of physical abuse. The question is not IF He disciplines us but rather HOW.
God’s primary method of discipline is seen in the words used to describe it: ‘correct’ and ‘rebuke’. It means He uses WORDS!
We see a beautiful picture of God’s Father Heart of correction in the book of Proverbs:
Proverbs 4:1 (NLT)
My children, listen when your father corrects you…
Did you notice that Solomon didn’t say: “…FEEL as your father corrects you…” He immediately establishes that correction comes through hearing the Word. Now let’s read further:
… Pay attention and learn good judgment,
for I am giving you good guidance.
Don’t turn away from my instructions.
Read through the Wisdom Writings and see how it is God’s Word that brings correction. Rest assured today that God uses His Word and not some form of hardship to establish us in righteousness.
My friend, the Bible calls Jesus our “Wonderful Counselor”. Allow Him to speak into your life today. One word from Him can change the course of your destiny. He has the answers to the biggest challenges you might be facing today.
Some of the toughest struggles can be resolved by His softest whisper of correction. It might be a small adjustment in your monthly spending that can solve your financial problems. It might be a simple attitude adjustment that can solve the tension in your workplace. The list is endless but the solution is simple: Christ is your wisdom.
I invite you to pray this prayer with me today:
Thank you Jesus that You are my wisdom today and every day. I invite You to lead me with Your unforced rhythms of grace today as You speak loving correction into every challenge I might be facing. I open up my heart to hear from You, Amen.
