I recently read that the fear of the unknown is one of the greatest fears a human can face. Take the current state the world finds itself in, add the feeling of impending doom hanging over our heads, and you have a recipe for fear in epic proportions. When faced with fear people will deal with it in two ways: I will trust in the fact that I know what to do and where I am going (i.e. my own strength), or I am going to trust the One I am following. My friend, if you are going to thrive and not just survive during these perilous times, you are going to have to relinquish control to God. I know that sounds counter productive, because when faced with troubles the last thing we want to do is lose control. David wrote: “The Lord is my light and my salvation”. The Lord is our light; meaning that He will show us where we are going. The world’s lens of truth is smeared. The world is confused. Allow Jesus to be the strength of your life during these times. Switch off the electronics, find a quiet spot and listen to the voice of your Shepherd. Read today’s Scripture portion and let it settle in your heart. Scripture promises us that our enemies will stumble and fall, God will make them our footstool. That means that whatever the devil has brought against you to defeat, frustrate and hinder you, God will turn it around for your good. When we give control over to God, He will do way above what you and I could do in our natural ability. Your life becomes supernatural. As the world gets darker – your life will get brighter. You have a future and hope.
