06 Jun You’re a winner
At Rhema West we are in a season of moving forward, building forward and growing forward. As we started with this message series three Sundays ago we saw that Nehemiah didn’t have any resistance to his idea of going to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem until they actually put their hands to the work.
Many of us experience the same thing today: the moment we step up to do something great in partnership with God, it seems like all hell breaks loose! Take heart, this is not God judging you, punishing you or closing doors. It is the persecution that arises to try and steal His promise from you.
The enemy is after your future. He wants to kill your dream before it is even born. He is trying to get you to quit or to make decisions for immediate gratification that will trip up your tomorrow. Don’t allow him to! If you jump ship today, you’ll drown tomorrow.
Remember in whom you have the victory.
Luke 10:19-20 (NIV)
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
Jesus Christ overcame the devil through His death and resurrection. Now that victory is yours too! The demonic forces belong under your feet while you continue to focus on Jesus and His redemptive love for you.
“But how do I keep the enemy under my feet?” you may ask. Revelation 12:11 gives us the answer:
They overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
We firstly enforce the enemy’s defeat by remembering Christ’s finished work as we partake of Holy Communion. Secondly we keep him under our feet by what we speak. And thirdly we stay victorious by letting our lives go into our God and Heavenly Father’s greater purpose.
To repeat Luke 10:20 “However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
