16 Jan You are part of big things
In the book of John, before His death, burial and resurrection, we find Jesus praying intensively for everyone who would believe in Him.
These two verses offer a succinct purpose statement for the church as a whole:
John 17:22-23 (NKJV)
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
Our Lord Jesus prays that all believers might be unified in relationship for a two-fold purpose:
- That the world may know that Father God sent Jesus to save them; and
- That the Father loves every human the same as He loves Jesus.
Wow, that is powerful! The reason the church exists is to proclaim Jesus Christ and the Father’s love. Only the Good News of Jesus’ redemptive work can truly help people live healthy lives. This is a vital mission God has for us, His church.
Did you know that your giving makes this possible? When you give financially toward the kingdom work expressed through your local church, you’re partnering with the cause of Christ. You’re helping to make Jesus’ purpose statement happen!
Yes, we know the church is not a building, but people. Yet people need shade over their heads and a chair to sit on to hear the message of Christ preached. A sound system helps to carry the sound to them and who wouldn’t like a cup of coffee after the service? These tools cost money. So never think that a passing offering basket is a trivial thing.
Whenever you give of your treasure, your talents, your time – your very self – you are helping the church show the world that Father God sent Jesus, and that He loves each and every one on this planet.
Thank you for every person who supports Rhema West this way. You are busy with Kingdom work!
