11 Oct Under the shadow of the Almighty
This week a mini tornado ran through Krugersdorp accompanied by a severe storm and hail in surrounding areas. Various of our church members were affected. What stood out to us, however, as we spoke to many of them in the aftermath of the storm, was that they could have been hit much worse. Some people testified that their complexes were trashed, but their house only sustained minor damages. Others lost their roof, but immediately there were fellow believers alongside to help them.
Psalm 91:7 (NKJV)
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
The Lord is truly faithful in protecting His children! I have on countless occasions encouraged our church to pray Psalm 91 over their lives and their loved ones and over the years we’ve had numerous testimonies of how faith in God’s promises has proved true.
In Christ, we are in covenant relationship with our heavenly Father. His promises of protection and provision are not dependent on us earning them. They are ours because we are sprinkled by the blood of the Lamb. All we must do is renew our minds to agree with these spiritual truths, and we see the manifestation. Let’s praise and thank the Lord this week as we think of how He brought us through a traumatic event and is taking care of us right now.
God’s protection is available to each of His children as we receive the promises of His Word by faith. See yourself under the shadow of the Almighty’s protection today.
Why not take a minute or two right now and read through Psalm 91 and pray it over your own life and those of your loved ones?
