27 Feb To be loved
Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Just think about it, even while you were still a sinner, God loved you. Your sin did not change how He felt about you.
We cannot earn this love and we don’t deserve it, yet He offers it to us. All we can do is open our hearts and receive it.
Why do we think we are saved by grace, but then have to keep it by our behaviour? If His love was there for us when we didn’t qualify for it, how much more now that the blood of Jesus has made us righteous in His eyes!
His love is free, no strings attached. You can even reject God and He will still love you. It is not God who smites you when you reject Him, it is your own decisions that sell you short.
Don’t let that happen. Drink in the Lord’s great love for you that He so graciously gives.
