15 Mar Abolition – The Golden Rule
There is a lesser known golden rule that has caused pain in all our lives. It goes like this:
He who has the gold, makes the rules.
This is not a bad reality if the gold is in your pocket, but when it is not … We are 100% convinced that you should always be somebody with gold in your pockets. Your Father is rich. As rich as God … ? He gives you wisdom in all your work and blesses that to which you put your hand. Those who bless you will be blessed and will want to bless you even more. You should be the one with gold in your pocket!
Just remember this: borrowed gold in your pocket still belongs to the lender. Borrowed gold does not empower you. It empowers the lender and enslaves you. I want to extend this saying:
He who has the gold, makes the rules. He who borrows, obeys those rules.
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7, NIV)
Don’t run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other. When you love others, you complete what the law has been after all along. (Romans 13:8, MSG)
We pray that you will tap into the abundant resources citizenship in this Kingdom provides. That you never have to borrow. And that you will be the rule-maker in every situation you find yourself in.
This concludes our Abolition Campaign devotionals. We trust that you’ve been encouraged to eradicate short-term debt from your life.
