29 May Your vision is the key to your future
Genesis 13:14 (NKJV)
And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward.”
If you want to move forward in this life you have to lift up your eyes and look from where you are.
Listen to what God told Abraham: Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are
Where you are now might be a place of lack. Lift your eyes and see yourself prospering! Where you are now might be a place of bad medical reports. Lift your eyes and see yourself healthy! Where you are now might be in the middle of a divorce. Lift your eyes and see yourself in a happy and fulfilling marriage!
#1 Your vision determines your future
What you see is what you get! If you have a poor vision – your life will be filled with poverty. If you have a negative vision – your life will be filled with negativity. If you have good vision – your life will be filled with good. If you have a prosperous vision – your life will be filled with prosperity.
#2 Your vision is determined by your view of God
If you see God as mean and angry and demanding – that is what your vision will be like. Listen to what God told Abraham: 15 “for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” (Genesis 13:15–17, NKJV)
This is the God you serve! He wants to lift you up and bless you. He wants to lift you higher and take you further. Hold on to that.
#3 You cannot have a clear vision by holding on to the past.
Abraham had to let go of the old to embrace the new. Some of us are stuck because we refuse to look up and move from the place where we are. Listen, I know 2017 may have been bad, but to have a good vision for 2018 you have to move on. You have to step out of the past! You must come out to go in.
What do you need to step out of today to embrace all that God has for you? Rejection? Inferiority? Regret? Is something hijacking your life and progress today? Maybe it is a relationship that is holding you back. Or a habit that is choking our progress.
